In 2024, St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon hosted the first annual charity gala, The Knight Is Young 2024, raising $105,000 to support our youth programs. This event enabled 15 dedicated youth cadets to represent our region at the Asia Pacific Youth Competition (APYC) in Hong Kong, where they showcased their first aid and leadership skills alongside peers from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The APYC, held from July 26 to 30, 2024, provided our cadets with invaluable opportunities to exchange knowledge, build international connections, and demonstrate the values of service and community leadership that define St. John Ambulance. Their participation not only highlighted their personal growth but also underscored our commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in first aid and community service.
This achievement was made possible by the generosity of our supporters at the Knight Is Young gala, whose contributions continue to empower our youth programs and foster global connections. Together, we are building a future where young leaders are equipped to make a difference both locally and internationally.
