Forging Bonds, Fueling Success
St. John Ambulance was fortunate to receive a total of $937,911 in grants in 2022, with a portion of that funding generously provided by the Ministry of Health. Funding provided by the Ministry of Health serves as a testament to their commitment to improving public health and safety. By acknowledging the significance of the Ministry’s support, we recognize their instrumental role in empowering St. John Ambulance to continue delivering essential services and making a difference in the lives of individuals and communities across BC and the Yukon.
With the Ministry’s partnership and funding, St. John Ambulance is privileged to lead the charge, promoting public awareness, improving accessibility, and encouraging AED usage among fellow British Columbians. Our Start Me Up program has made a positive impact by installing AED stands at key locations, including Crescent Beach, City of Burnaby, City of Delta, Summerland and Townsend Park in Chilliwack. With gratitude, we embark on this life-saving journey, knowing that together we can make a difference, one heartbeat at a time.
We upgraded our first aid training equipment empowering our instructors to deliver a superior learning experience. The acquisition of additional equipment has alleviated the financial burden of advanced level training in remote communities, encouraging private businesses to prioritize their staff and community’s safety. These improvements foster a better-educated and safer public, equipped with the essential skills to serve their communities, and save lives in times of crisis.
With additional funding support we were also able to expand the reach of our volunteers, creating healthier and safer communities. It helped to empower youth with life-saving skills, fostering their engagement and making them valued members of society and it facilitated our expansion into remote areas and Indigenous communities, amplifying our capacity to support and uplift more regions across BC and the Yukon.
