Dear St. John Friends,
Our volunteers are keen to get on with delivering their mission of care to casualty and community, throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. To help sustain those wonderful efforts and ensure resources remain available on the ground, a dedicated team of financial first responders has continued its hard work behind the scenes.
As Treasurer, I am very pleased to report some key accomplishments in the ongoing program of fiscal rejuvenation. The most recently concluded year proved the organization well on-track, in its journey of re-strengthening. Particularly notable was the retirement of all long-term debts during 2022. Disburdening itself of those historic encumbrances proved particularly bolstering to St. John, given the rises in borrowing costs which have continued apace ever since.
The terrain which St. John’s Finance Committee works so professionally to cover is complex, and the issues many-furrowed. The organization is indebted to those devoted and highly skilled volunteers that worked tirelessly in 2022 to drive its affairs firmly forward.
Yours in service,
Brendan L’Heureux, MStJ, CD
